The Upscale Brands - Design and Construction team is responsible for the design and implementation of brand and guest - centric experiences that generate the highest profit for our franchisees. As a key member of our Design and Construction team, you will be responsible for assisting the project managers for upscale design & construction to ensure construction schedules are met and all projects meet construction specifications.

Your Responsibilities



  • Assists Project Managers on active projects with design reviews for Brand compliance.


  • Support Project Managers on active projects on construction management process as directed.


  • Accompany project managers on site visits and prepare field reports for construction projects to ensure conformance with brand image and standards.


  • Under general supervision from leadership will be responsible for small project development and construction projects.


  • Assists Project Managers, Regional Vice Presidents of Development Sales, and potential franchisees on creating site plans for Cambria Hotel to meet programing, parking, and Brand requirements.


  • Supports brand championing efforts and implements adoption of select brand initiative programs / products with data entry and deck preparation.


  • Monitors and manages online content to educate and inform external stakeholders of vital programs and information.


  • Assists in the preparation and delivery of professional and effective communications to convey brand strategy, brand initiatives, and brand performance to a variety of audiences.


    Your Experience, Skills & Competencies


    • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in construction management, architecture, or engineering or a relevant field of study required.


    • At least 1 years' experience in professional, hospitality and/or multi-family architectural experience - previous site planning/space planning experience preferred - including familiarity with national building codes and regulations.


    • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word


    • Proficiency in AutoCAD is required. Proficiency in BlueBeam and Revit is preferred but not required.


    • Familiarity with cost estimating and reviewing project schedules is preferred.


    • Strong organizational and prioritization skills as well as extremely detail oriented.


    • Flexibility to change priorities and ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently.


    • Self-starter, ability to work independently and with limited supervision.


    • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate effectively with the company's franchisee-base.


    • Ability to handle complexity of construction and architectural related projects with contractors, architects, and Product Design & Program teams.


    • Ability to communicate successfully with stakeholders of various disciplines and levels.


    • Ability to work collaboratively across a highly matrixed organization.


    • Ability to plan and manage multiple projects with multiple team members.


    • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time.


    • Demonstrates key competencies to include Collaborates, Communicates Effectively, and Nimble Learning


      Your Team
      This is an individual contributor role that will report to the Manager, Upscale Design & Construction Project Management. You will have 5 peer teammates and collaborate with cross functional departments on a regular basis.

      As our Associate Project Manager, Upscale Design & Construction, you will be based in our beautiful, state-of-the-art worldwide corporate headquarters in Rockville, MD. Less than 15 miles from Washington, DC, we're located directly across from the Rockville Metro station, with service on the Red Line and the MARC Brunswick line, easy access to I-270, and plenty of free parking provided by Choice Hotels.
      Right now, our associates in Rockville, MD are working in a hybrid environment, 3 to 4 days per week in the office and virtual from your home office the remaining days. We provide flexibility and encourage ongoing communication with your leadership to establish expectations about your unique needs.
