The Digital Design Lead is responsible for leading the creation of thoughtful and engaging experiences for our growing suite of experiences across our brands. This hands-on role requires earning trust cross-functionally, thinking big, continuous innovation, a bias for action, coupled with thoughtful experimentation. As a founding member of the Design Team, you will be empowered to establish the importance of design across all customer touchpoints. In this role, you will design experiences that thread across brands and across every surface. Your influence will extend across product design moments in every part of our platform, and impact every user. This includes designing digital marketing, communications materials, and future looking digital products. As a Digital Design Lead, you should feel comfortable playing a leading role in the design process. Helping transform strategic goals for the company into thoughtful, beautiful experiences for every persona involved. You'll conduct research, build UX workflows, define core interaction paradigms, and deliver a visually stunning experience. The ideal candidate is a dynamic, influential leader who possesses a well-rounded design background and has a strong visual point of view complimented by solid UX fundamentals. You will inspire your team to reimagine financial services, digital marketing, and how rich interactivity brings added business value. Your day to day:

  • Oversee all facets of product and digital design for your team and maintain a consistently high bar of quality for their work
  • Guide your team and colleagues through all phases of the design process including: distilling data and research insights, leading group ideation sessions, conducting design reviews, and providing design support through final implementation
  • Simplify complex design problems and find opportunities to push the bounds of what is possible with content and marketing
  • Work closely with other functional leaders in product, engineering, and research to prioritize, plan, and track product initiatives and outcomes
  • Communicate progress and key updates with other teams, partners, and leadership on a regular basis
  • Foster highly collaborative working relationships between the design team and members of product, engineering, and brand teams to deliver a seamless, unified experience to our customers
  • Always be a vocal advocate for our customers and possess a strong understanding of how data and qualitative research inform building outstanding products
  • Be hands-on and capable of rolling up your sleeves to work with product and engineering teams or autonomously leading multiple work streams and initiatives
  • Lead, inspire, and develop a diverse team of product designers by raising the team's level of design, decision making, and collaboration skills
  • Iterative prototyping and refining designs from low-fi wireframes to beautiful mocks that can be developed into functional digital experiences.
  • Assist in the development of landing pages and website conversion flows in order to build seamless user experiences.
  • Manage the design team, translating company goals into design priorities, defining effective cross-team workflows, and ensuring that designers are happy and motivated.
    Education and Experience Required:
    • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience
    • 8 years of experience in designing and building consumer-facing digital experiences
    • Experience working within the financial services or banking industry
    • Proficiency in Figma, Adobe CS, Webflow, and Asana

      • You drive the numbers: Demonstrated history of driving impact through UX solutions to meet key company OKRs and business metrics
      • You've got a hot book: Portfolio includes examples of work that drove results, user interface, website, typography, color, imagery, animation, and digital graphics
      • You've got the chops: Hands-on and well-rounded experience in all types of creative (advertising, video, presentation, infographics, social post, etc.) across all marketing channels (website, social media, digital, CRM, events, etc.)
      • You're a sponge: You read updates, news, announcements, plans, etc., remember details, and can connect the dots across a big company
      • You're organized: You have a system to prioritize, task management comes easy, and make a to-do list every morning after you make your bed.
      • Solution oriented: Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to turn product requirements, user research, usability feedback, and personal design aesthetics into easy-to-use solutions.
      • Passion for teaching: You don't just lead training; you care deeply about the improvement of others. You prioritize others' success over your own.
      • Master storyteller: You can craft a compelling narrative across different channels - you know how to match the message to the medium.
      • A "driver" personality: You're biased toward action, a great collaborator and master simplifier. You never stop pushing towards clarity and delivery.
      • Grittiness: You never hesitate to roll up your sleeves and take on something hands-on, you persevere when others fall away.
