Job Description:

Job Summary:
The Training Specialist is a key role in assisting with development of team members at all levels of the organization. The work includes partnering with Program Leadership to assist with Team Member Development from assessment, to design/facilitation and results measurement. This role will lead and /or contribute to the development and delivery of training projects in a managed service, people based, turnkey model. This content will range from individual development through technical content training in all roles within the organization. Contribution to organizational goals and objectives; with the combined efforts of the HR /Training team, the Training Specialist will work on specific projects that improve and support program policy and practice administration relating to all phases of an individual's developmental cycle.
Essential Duties:
Work individually to meet departmental goals and objectives that effectively align with the business/strategic plans.
Responsible for Design and Implementation of Development Program; create Professional Competency Models, assess talent pool, and work with leadership to implement individual Development Plans
Consult with management and other leadership to identify business processes. Partnering with internal stakeholders regarding team member training needs.
Responsible for the assessment, and development material for training events. This includes various methodologies utilizing adult learning processes.
Assist with individual development programs that positively impact organizational effectiveness by identifying and evaluating business initiatives to ascertain appropriate programs that meet company goals. Responsible for the implementation of effectiveness interventions.
Coordinates with subject matter experts and develops courseware for instructor-led training, live virtual classroom, web-based training or hybrid treatments
Primary role in new team member training process; marketing as face of the organization as the initial bond toward of SCI for new team members; facilitation and administration of developmental practices for an upbeat, energetic, and positive onboarding experience.
Designs and develops plans, text, graphics, multimedia animations and simulations and tests or assessment instruments for e-Learning courses and integrates these into a final course deliverable or deliverables. Usesproven instructional design techniques and practices to provide courses that adhere to accepted quality standards.
Must actively participate and contribute positively to multiple areas of the strategic plan including facilitating workgroups, taskforces and committees.
Identify opportunities for continuous process improvement.
Complete special projects or perform other duties as needed to meet departmental goals.
Works closely with operations management to ensure that all schedule requirements are met and to resolve project-related problems or issues.
Various other Human Resources/Developmental duties and special projects as assigned.
Required Competencies:
Knowledge of the Human Services Industry; Case Management to best identify developmental content, timelines and process for appropriate adult learning.
Past experience in delivering individual development material; emphasis on professional licensed, certified programs such as; Blanchard, Covey, and highly ranked Business Schools throughout the US.
Ability to work within and manage ambiguity. Excels in dealing with challenges or events that do not always have a process, system or solutions in place.
Professional presence. Natural ability to represent SCI internally and externally in a consistent manner. Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, and a professional demeanor which interacts clearly, and effectively with all organizational leaders and team members.
Manages time and resources effectively while balancing the priorities of the most important goals and outcomes.
Possess a high level of learning agility for continuous development.
Excellent computer skills with knowledge of e-Learning rapid prototyping tools that provide the ability to create electronic media learning models such as; Adobe Captivate, Camtasia, Brainshark or Lectora Publisher. Working knowledge of graphics packages such as; Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Microsoft Visio and office productivity tools such as; MS Office, GoogleDocs, and OpenOffice.
Ability to act in a manner that reflects well on the agency, and to respect the confidential nature of information.
Have a reliable automobile to travel to meetings, etc. and a valid driver's license with a good driving record.
Performance Measures to be Met:
Competency: Relationships , navigational expertise, job knowledge, time management, and work character,
Appropriate departmental efforts resulting in performance improvement impacting business measures such as; team members development objectives and delivery of content.
Successful project participation resulting in improvements that meet organizational strategic goals.
Certification Requirements:
Successful completion of Train the Trainer Certification Course through Association for Talent Development (ATD) within 6 months of start date.
Successful completion of 2 micro learning courses as identified by your supervisor with 6 months of start date.
Bachelor's degree in any Adult Learning or Development area or Human Services field or professional experience may be substituted in lieu of education.
ASTD (American Society for Training & Development) Certification strongly preferred.
2-4 years' experience in the Adult Learning professional field. May substitute 2 years' experience or more as a case manager within SCI. 8 years' experience or more may be substituted in lieu of Bachelor's degree.
Preferred experience in delivering individual development material; emphasis on professional licensed, certified programs such as; Blanchard, Covey, and highly ranked Business Schools throughout the US.
Preferred familiarity with SCORM (Shared Compliance Model) compliance and integrating deliverables into learning management tools.

Vision abilities required by this job include close vision. The team members must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10-25 pounds.
