feel passionate about. Job Summary The Scientist II will apply
knowledge and expertise to design and execute downstream processes
for purification of biologics products and different types of viral
vectors such as adeno-associated virus (AAV), adenovirus,
lentivirus etc. The Scientist II will provide technical solutions
to a wide range of difficult problems. Duties and Responsibilities
--- Design and execute project specific process independently for
purification of different types of viral vectors including AAV,
lentivirus, adenovirus, and other biologics to meet the
requirements for specific projects in compliance with
regulations.
--- Evaluate clients' process regarding feasibility and potential
risks for productivity and quality of products. Propose solutions
for improvement. -
--- Identify, source, and prepare appropriate materials according
to the project scope.
--- Execute different units of operations in downstream processes
including cell lysate clarification, chromatography using different
types of columns, and different filtration processes.
--- Lead assay development for in-process samples including but not
limited to viral titer assay by qPCR or HPLC, viral purity and
identity assay by SDS-PAGE silver staining and Western blot, and
other assays. -
--- Represent Process Development in providing solutions to
difficult technical issues associated with specific projects
internally and to clients.
--- Document all data in compliance with SOPs and provide help to
support IND documents based on client requirements.
--- Other responsibilities as needed. Job Qualifications
--- Ph.D. in Virology or Biochemistry, or related life science
field with 3+ years of related experience, or M.S. in a related
field with at least 5 years of experience.
--- Working experience with virus production is preferred.
--- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
--- Microsoft Office experience (Word, Excel, PowerPoint,
etc.).
--- Good critical thinking skills.
--- Ability to resolve customer issues.
--- Well-organized, able to manage multiple projects at a time.
--- Strong ability to adapt, be flexible, and work independently
and with resilience.
--- Team-player.
