Job Description:
ICF is looking for an full-time science writer. Location can be
in Rockville, MD or remote.Responsibilities:Develops, plans,
writes, and synthesizes scientific proceedings, white papers,
multimedia or web-based publications, blogs, talking points,
presentations, speeches, newsletters, and other communique at the
clients request. Conducts interviews with subject matter experts
and other technical staff to gather data for documentation.Attends
scientific meetings or conferences to develop comprehensive summary
of discussions/presentations.Develops workplans, timelines, and
coordinates written product development and delivery.Researches and
translates technical information (e.g., quantitative and
qualitative data, epidemiological information, biostatistics) into
manuscripts, web-based documents, white papers, talking points,
blogs, speeches, newsletters, and presentations for lay audiences
and NIH scientists and researchers. Advises on best practices and
formats to address client requirements.Works under limited
direction and regularly interacts with peers and clients within the
immediate contract.Produces products reflective of ICF and client
standards. Qualifications: Seasoned, experienced professional with
a full understanding of health communications, science, and data
interpretation.BA/BS degree in public health, science, or
equivalent required. Masters degree preferred. Experience with
diversity and inclusion communications preferred.Creative thinker
with a solution-oriented approach to addressing tasks that are
writing policies and procedures. Experience working with diverse
teams, including researchers, analysts, writers, and creative
staff.Works on problems of diverse scope where data interpretation
requires evaluation of clearly identified factors. Demonstrates
good judgement in selecting approaches and applying theory to
synthesize scientific information.Ability to juggle multiple
projects and urgent ad hoc requests and weigh ongoing priorities
