Basic Maintenance Technician:

Performs a variety of preventative maintenance including carpentry, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, locksmithing and basic drywall repair and painting tasks as required and assigned. Responsibilities include checking and repairing basic electrical fixtures, including fuses, switches and outlets; replacing electrical switches, light bulbs, and fluorescent light tubes, checking and repairing basic plumbing fixtures including spigots, traps and washers, and pipe fittings; making minor repairs on mechanical equipment such as furnaces, air conditioners, fans, pumps, gear boxes and conveyors; cleaning and lubricating moving parts; packing glands; installing, maintaining, and repairing locks, key systems, and door hardware; and performing various other preventive maintenance on mechanical equipment. Additinally, the ability to perform a variety of locksmith duties such as installing, maintaining, and repairing locks, key systems, and door hardware is preferred including duplicate keys and locks, install locks, both mechanical and electric, repair and maintain existing lock systems, keep accurate records of key distribution, ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies, promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.

Qualified candidates will possess:

  • High School Diploma or GED Required
  • 1 year of trade experience in building maintenance
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Working knowledge of basic repairs on electrical systems and fixtures, plumbing systems, and mechanical equipment in a commercial building
  • Working knowledge of wall repair, patch and paint following infection control guidelines in a health care environment
  • Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions
  • Ability to perform manual tasks requiring dexterity
  • Ability to work well with others
  • Strong customer relations skills
  • Ability to work overtime hours and be available for on-call/call in hours

Work Schedule:

Week days 6:30AM-3PM with occasional weekend rotations
