Our Data Architects are responsible for designing systems to support a multitude of organizations' data needs. This includes supporting Data Platform modernization efforts like the RMS Data Hub as well as supporting Classified Data strategy.
          
          The successful candidate should have strong foundational knowledge and hands-on experience with distributed systems and play an active role in designing a cutting-edge architecture for a modern data platform that includes batch and streaming use cases. This individual will deal with complex, interrelated applications and systems being designed for today's Cloud-based data platforms and will work with rapidly evolving technologies and internal stakeholders to analyze and define unique and innovative solutions for achieving strategic business goals.
          
          This position is for a Data Architect within Lockheed Martin Chief Data & Analytics Office (CDAO) supporting Rotary and Mission Systems (RMS). The work location for this position is virtual.
          
          Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
          --- Collaborate with data engineers, scientists, and analysts to develop solutions across the entire data processing pipeline
          --- Partner with AI/ML teams to support their development and operational needs
          --- Design architectures in a cloud-based platforms including AI GPU HPC Architectures
          --- Support data architecture decomposition assessments and identify required structural design elements for databases and other data storage systems for functional areas, program areas, or Digital Transformation activities
          --- Incorporate enterprise-level architecture standards in support of business process transformations
          --- Consult across the enterprise on federated enterprise architecture solutions
          --- Apply best practices for modeling data for analysis and advanced analytics use cases and coach other team members to learn these best practices
          --- Support data strategy activities such as data governance, data sharing/rights, data quality, data exchange, etc.
          --- Support business technology configurations and integration activities such as defining work products, processes, and tool integrations across values streams.
          --- Recommend solutions to improve new and existing data systems
          --- Support migration of data from legacy systems to modern solutions
          --- Exhibit a degree of ingenuity, creativity, and resourcefulness when designing and implementing effective database storage and retrieval systems while working as part of an Agile scrum team

          Basic Qualifications:
          --- US Citizenship
          --- Experience in the fields of big data, data warehousing or data science
          --- Foundational knowledge and experience with range of data architectures
          --- Experience in Cloud-based architectures
          --- Experience with real-time analytics, data modeling, database design and data management
          --- Strong ability to work with stakeholders and product teams to analyze their needs and requirements to make recommendations and design robust solutions.
          --- Experience harmonizing systems, processes, and/or data across multiple business areas and functions
          --- Experience building and communicating technical and functional plans using Agile methodologies
          --- Knowledge of data science, analytics, design, engineering technologies and practices
          --- Experience in DevSecOps methodologies, including CI/CD pipelines, resiliency, and infrastructure agnostic deployment
          --- Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills; ability to communicate and thrive in a cross-functional matrix environment
          --- Must have strong problem-solving skills and excellent oral and written communication skills
          --- Experience documenting technical solutions in support of standards and best practices
          --- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or other relevant area

          --- Experience with data analytics and/or visualization tools, such as Tableau, BusinessObjects, Qlik, MicroStrategy, Power BI, SAP HANA, AWS RedShift, etc.
