POSITION SUMMARY:The Software Engineer II will be responsible for developing, supporting, implementing, and maintaining a set of information systems both in-house developed as well as 3rd-party integrations. Responsibilities may include, but not be limited to, developing/maintaining business applications, supporting business systems, and web site development. The position requires the ability to gather requirements, design, conduct reviews, develop, test and maintain multiple tools that integrate across existing and emerging technologies to provide support for organizational actions.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: ---\tMaintain and develop interactive, web-based applications and services using .NET---\tSupport internal use of various software systems used in support of ongoing business---\tDevelop data extraction tools to parse and collect relevant information from a variety of sources---\tParticipate in requirements definition to help design data gathering and analysis systems---\tPresent work, verbally and in writing, to diverse audiences including technical colleagues and management---\tPerform many roles on a team including individual contributor, leader, analyst, or project manager---\tSpecific duties may vary depending upon departmental requirementsEXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:---\tBachelor's degree in science, math, computer science or engineering field ---\tMinimum 5 years of web development experience---\tExperience with API integrations through web services (REST, SOAP)---\tExperience with Windows Server administration, particularly IIS, is preferred---\tExperience with leveraging various Microsoft office applications in a business setting---\tExperience with technical, process control or scientific programming---\tExperience with various software tools including Python, Microsoft---s Entity Framework and data visualization tools (Spotfire)---\tExpertise in development and deployment of B2B e-commerce websites ---\tPortfolio of past application development projects, in which a tangible lead development role was held---\tERP systems including JD Edwards experience is a plusKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:---\tStrong programming fundamentals and analytical background o\tLogical problem solving and demonstrated ability to organize and move project tasks forward in an orderly and structured fashion---\tProficiency in .NET/C# ---\tProven expertise in development and deployment of B2B e-commerce websites ---\tDemonstrated proficiency with C#, MSSQL, HTML, and JavaScript---\tTrack record of successful sound code design, reuse and maintenance---\tEnd-to-end knowledge of content management and e-commerce systems including performance and scalability, design and tuning, data mitigation, SEO strategy execution, content distribution and third party web services integration---\tExcellent oral, written communication and interpersonal skills o\tEffectively communicate issues/problems and results that impact timelines, accuracy and reliability of project data---\tA wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected including the ability to work closely with scientific subject matter experts, multi-task and work productively in a demanding team environment PHYSICAL DEMANDS:This position requires the ability to communicate and exchange information, utilize equipment necessary to perform the job, and move about the office.WORK ENVIRONMENT:This position is performed in a traditional office environment.Job SummaryRequisition Number: ENGIN01148Job Category: Software DevelopmentSchedule: Full-Time
