Must have MD license. Hair Design Zone (www.myhdz.com) in Rockville Town Square is looking to hire an experienced, dedicated hair stylist or colorist to join our culturally-diverse team. Japanese precision and innovation is at the heart of HDZ. HDZ is a high-end, state-of-the-art hair salon located in vibrant, ethnically-inclusive, and metro-accessible Rockville Town Square with plentiful walk-in traffic. Our salon is highly ranked on review platforms, such as Yelp, which generates new clientele. COMMISSION AND CAREER GROWTH We have a tiered level system that allows you to advance your career from Stylist to Master Designer. During the initial probation period, the minimum hourly pay is $15. After 3 months with HDZ, earn progressive commission based on performance, productivity and sales. Retail commission is 20% and up. TOP EDUCATION Increase your knowledge as well as your earnings with continuing education from Japan-trained master designer Juan Ma, Hoyu and Schwarzkopf Hair Color professionals, and Japanese-brand Milbon professionals. BENEFITS Full-time employees receive W-2. Assistants are available to provide additional support when needed. After three or more years, you can become a HDZ shareholder Employee discounts CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS: 2+ years experience, preferred Self-Starter, creative, and able to multitask Must have a passion for your craft and provide exceptional client service Ability to build and maintain strong client and team relationships Ability to work independently and as part of a team to achieve salon goals Desire to continuously improve and a willingness to learn Strong interpersonal, oral communication and listening skills Ability to be flexible and adapt to business needs Reliable and available to work various schedules, including nights, weekends and holidays MUST have a cosmetology license in Maryland AND eligibility to work in the United States
