Position Summary: Contracts: This position is within the Fisher BioServices business unit of Thermo Fisher Scientific. The Director, PMO and Government Services is responsible for managing the Client Services, Project Directors and Supply Chain teams and serves as a member of the Senior Leadership Team of the business.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Manage employees, systems and procedures related to Client Services and Project Management.

Provide oversight for the management of Project Directors of Government and Government related contracts in meeting contract technical requirements.

Develops trusted advisor relationships with key accounts and customer stakeholders. Ensures the timely and successful delivery of our solutions according to customer needs and objectives

Works closely with customers interested in strategic partnerships or unique initiatives to ensure mutually satisfying development, implementation and execution

Implements tools and processes that ensure work load is consistently spread across all resources available within the group; the level of service delivered to each customer is industry leading; visibility to project timelines from quoting to release exists and allows for proactive resolution of any issues impacting customer expectations; customer needs are clearly understood by all operational areas within the business.

Enforces a robust approach to project management that allows for managing timelines and ensuring key milestones are met for customer specific projects by vendors, customers and internal operations.

Coordinates and collaborates within the division to establish and execute responsibilities required to meet customer expectations for global projects. Develops specific short-term and long-range goals and programs as well as supporting budget requests and financial estimates.

Staff and develop high functioning teams that meet or exceed goals, by engaging in meaningful communications, and fostering personal and professional growth.

Implements and maintains a robust learning and development program that allows for the development of all individuals within the group at all level

Develops clear role descriptions for each function within Client Services and updates these as necessary due to changing business needs.

Fosters and maintains a customer focused culture throughout the business

Implements and ensures compliance with GMP and Standard Operating Procedures impacting the performance of the Client Services and Project Management Group

Supports preparation of technical and business proposals submitted in response to Government Request for Proposals.

Demonstrates and promotes the company vision of the 4 I’s: Integrity, Intensity, Innovation and involvement; conducts all activities in a safe and efficient manner.

Lead, participate, and contribute to practical process Improvement (PPI) projects that deliver business objectives in a cost-effective manner.

Provides suggestions and guidance for over-all business success and growth.

Serve on the Senior Leadership Team and provide leadership in implementing the recommendations

Requires excellent analytical business skills with above average verbal and written communications skills.

Requires ability to develop and implement work flow processes that are easily understood and followed by all levels within the department.

Prefer Technical writing experience.

Requires ability and knowledge to analyze scientific literature/data.

Education/ Experience:

Requires Master’s Degree in Public Health, Biological Sciences or Business Administration.

Prefer PhD degree in related scientific field.

Requires 7 years of clinical trial/biorepository experience.

Requires 5+yrs experience in Program Management and 5 years supervisory experience.

Prefer work experience with Biological Clinical Samples.

Prefer familiarity with government and state regulations on storing, handling and distribution of biological reagents and clinical samples.

Supervisory Responsibility:

Direct supervisory responsibility of Client Services and Project Management within Fisher BioServices.

Must have ability to work in a cold environment with exposure to dry ice, liquid nitrogen cryogenics, hazardous and infectious agents, marked changes in temperature.

Must use personal protective equipment and adhere to safety protocols.

Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.

Must be able to work in walk-in freezers or refrigerators periodically.

Must be able to use a computer up to 6 hours per day.

Must be able to travel to all sites as needed
