The Molecular Biology and In Vitro Screening group at the US
Research and Development Center, GSK Vaccines, is responsible for
the designing, production and and in vitro characterization of
vaccine candidates. This group plays an essential role in
supporting GSK Vaccines projects in the Preclinical space.
We are looking for a highly motivated leader, with a proven
record in utilizing the most up to date molecular and cell biology
tools and high-throughput technologies to design the best vector
based vaccines, and to provide expertise in vaccine development for
To provide expertises in the areas of DNA cloning, in vitro RNA
transcription and cell-based assay characterization of vaccine
Develop high-throughput workflows for molecular biology and cell
biology processes to generate and screen vaccine candidates
Design and develop new assays and technologies to support RNA
vaccine generation and evaluation
Provide effective and inspiring leadership with an enterprise
mindset, ensuring support to professional development and
qualification of staff.
Ensure the team use cutting edge technologies and ideas to
deliver best preclinical expertise to GSK vaccine projects in
discovery, development, and life cycle management.
Ensure that the objectives of the team are aligned with R&D
and business priorities and team activities are designed and
delivered according to project needs.
Takes full accountability of management tasks for the team and
meet data integrity and quality expectations.
Ensures the team delivering assigned activities in the most
efficient and resource conscious manner; drives innovation to
establish technology in the lab to enhance data quality and

with key scientific internal and external stakeholders.
Participate in IP and regulatory filings and publishes in peer

Why you? Basic Qualifications: We are looking for professionals
with these required skills to achieve our goals:
PhD degree in life sciences with at least 10 years of experience
in a related biotechnology field.
Knowledgeable in the fields of molecular biology, cell biology,
high-throughput technologies and screening.
Experience in managing a team of scientists and forging
collaborations in a matrix organization.
Strong track-record of scientific publications in peer-reviewed
Fluency in English, spoken and written.
Preferred Qualifications: If you have the following
characteristics, it would be a plus:
Prior experience in high-throughput cloning platforms.
Experience in RNA in vitro transcription techniques and
familiarity with RNA based vaccine technology.
Prior experience in high-thoughput cell-based screening.
To be successful in the role, this person must:
Demonstrate a detailed fundamental knowledge in molecular
biology, cell biology and the application of high-throughput
technology to those fields.
Have practical knowledge in molecular cloning, nucleic acid
purification, in vitro transcription, and cell-based assays
Have the ability to understand, interpret, and communicate
complex scientific data to determine next steps
Be comfortable conversing with opinion leaders regarding highly
Comfortable in managing in a matrix environment.
Possess a good balance of creativity and analytical thinking
