Lead a team of Preclinical scientists to apply the
state-of-the-art molecular biology technologies to engineer viral
agents, identify vaccine candidates for prevention and treatment of
viral diseases, and drive the preclinical development of
vector-based vaccine platforms (particularly the RNA platform).

Provide effective and inspiring leadership with an enterprise

Ensure the team to use cutting edge technologies and ideas to
deliver best preclinical expertise to GSK vaccine projects in
discovery, development, and life cycle management
Ensure that the objectives of the team are aligned with R&D
and business priorities and team activities are designed and
delivered according to project needs.
Takes full accountability of management tasks for the team and
meet data integrity and quality expectations.
Ensures the team delivering assigned activities in the most
efficient and resource conscious manner; drives innovation to
establish technology in the lab to enhance data quality and
Possesses strong scientific leadership to enable collaboration
with key scientific internal and external stakeholders.
Participate in IP and regulatory filings and publishes in peer
Supervise PhD students and postdoctoral fellows as needed
Accountable for the management monitoring of the laboratory,
ensuring that compliance with the GSK Environment, Health and
Safety standards are an integral part of the operations and
L ead and develop a diverse team of scientists, to partner with
Scientific leaders delivering preclinical activities to support
projects, and to ensure alignment/synergies with other preclinical
teams across the global GSK organization
Why you? Basic Qualifications: We are looking for professionals
with these required skills to achieve our goals:
MD or PhD degree in life sciences
7 years of experience in a related biotechnology field
Recognized scientific leader in molecular virology, vector
biology, RNA biology, or vaccinology
Preferred Qualifications: If you have the following
characteristics, it would be a plus:
Advanced training (e.g. post-doc) and demonstrated a bility of
managing a team to drive projects.
Among 7 years of job experience, at least 5 years are in
Knowledge of GSK Vaccines strategy and objectives, regulatory
requirements, and competition intelligence and intellectual
property aspects. Ability to integrate this knowledge in decisions
People management and communication skills. Need to
appropriately manage the interfaces with Scientific Leaders for
projects as well as with Preclinical, Technical Development,
Clinical, Regulatory, Medical Affairs, Global Patents, Legal,
Able to efficiently manage uncertainty, changes in priority and
Able to deliver accurate and credible scientific communication
outside GSK (e.g., peer reviewed publications, conference
presentations, and contacts with other stakeholders).
