company was founded with the objective of rescuing unwanted food
scraps from the landfill, helping to retain valuable nutrients by
converting the food scraps into a rich soil amendment – compost.
The company has grown to serve thousands of homes, businesses,
communities and governments throughout Washington D.C., Maryland,
and Virginia, and composted tens of millions of pounds of organic
We are hiring a Sales Director to be responsible for sales to
businesses, government entities and local communities in Maryland,
Virginia, and the District of Columbia to support our growth
Manage a growing sales team and an expanding territory that
includes the DC and Baltimore Metro regions and surrounding
Represent the company in business meetings with potential
Identify new target markets, and proactively generate leads,
based on knowledge of the company’s strategic objectives and the
regional market opportunity.
Quarterback the response to RFPs from business and government,
ensuring that professional proposals are delivered in a timely
Collaborate with marketing on ideas for new campaigns to help
grow the pipeline.
Manage a sales team’s use of a CRM system to track sales goals
and achievement, in order to provide the reporting that the
executive team needs to guide the business.
Key Requirements Minimum of 5-7 years of sales and 3+ years of
sales management experience, preferably in the waste management
industry, or a circular economy business.
A strong track record of achievement against a sales quota.
Capable of being a player-coach, willing to take on strategic
sales opportunities while managing the forecast and sales
achievement for a team.
Highly proficient with IT, including CRM applications,
spreadsheets, and other tools.
Attention to detail.
Flexibility to adapt to a fast-changing work environment.
Be a team player, willing to work with others across the company
to introduce new initiatives in support of the company’s growth
