Health (FNIH), the Congressionally chartered nonprofit partner of
the NIH, is looking for an attorney to fill an immediate opening in
the Washington, DC area. The qualified attorney will work with a
talented team of professionals to help advance, interpret, and
support opportunities from a diverse group of stakeholders
including foundations, associations, corporations, universities,
and individuals to drive innovation and biomedical discovery in
partnership with our nation's premier biomedical research agency,
the National Institutes of Health. The contracts lawyer will draft,
review, and negotiate a high volume and broad range of agreements.
The lawyer will be part of the FNIH legal team working under the
direction of the Foundation's Associate General Counsel. The
attorney will: Draft, negotiate and manage a variety of contracts
to support FNIH needs, including donor agreements, grant
agreements, services agreements, research collaboration agreements,
data sharing agreements and confidentiality agreements Support FNIH
project managers in developing an overall structure for a project's
agreements Advise on contract terms and provide guidance on risks
Develop clear and accurate legal documents consistent with internal
policies Support regulatory filings and compliance obligations;
assist in document review associated with FOIA requests Contribute
to and lead ongoing process improvements POSITION REQUIREMENTS: The
attorney will have: A J.D. from an accredited institution An active
state bar certification A minimum of three years of experience
drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts Experience managing
a variety of legal documents, providing guidance on their
contractual terms and implications, and assessing risk Excellent
