Development Engineer IIiShip Position InformationThis position is
with iShip, Inc, a subsidiary in Bellevue, WA, supporting projects
critical to the success of The UPS Store and other UPS Operations.
These projects include applications on Desktop, Mobile, Data
Center, and Database Tiers. We prefer our primary location in
Bellevue, WA, but we also have a team in Parsippany.iShip
Qualifications
- Experience with C#, .NET, and SQL Language
- Knowledge of Cloud-based application development and
deployments; Private or Public Cloud experience is acceptable.
- Familiarity with DevOps, GIT Flow, and modern software
engineering pipelines, including non-.NET/Windows environments like
Java and Linux.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline, or
equivalent education and work experienceGeneral Job
DescriptionApplies principles of software engineering to design,
develop, maintain, test, and evaluate software providing business
capabilities, solutions, and product suites. Manages systems
lifecycle including analysis, requirements, design, coding,
testing, and implementation to ensure timely and within-budget
delivery. Supports emerging technologies and application
development, integration, and maintenance. Develops logic for new
applications or modifies existing logic, analyzes requirements,
tests, and integrates components, and ensures successful system
improvements. May focus on web/internet applications using various
languages and platforms. Defines complexity drivers, estimates
efforts, creates milestones, and tracks progress.Provides
functional expertise, typically acquired through education and
experience. May supervise others as a 'player coach' with a focus
on individual expertise, especially at higher levels. Continues to
broaden capabilities and understanding of company, processes, and
customers. Solves straightforward problems using experience,
judgment, and precedents, impacting work quality of self and team.
Performs tasks with moderate guidance.Agile Engineering Best
Practices
- Understand the software development lifecycle and agile
practices (e.g., planning, requirements analysis, design, coding,
testing).
- Know when to apply agile vs. traditional methodologies for
optimal results.
- Apply agile practices like pair programming and test-driven
development in projects.Project Management
- Develop project plans, define timeframes, and prioritize tasks
to meet milestones.
- Identify resource needs and recommend support strategies.
- Monitor progress to meet project goals.Troubleshooting
- Analyze data and patterns to identify issues.
- Research and recommend solutions, implementing solutions based
on best practices and experience, escalating complex issues as
needed.Application Development/ProgrammingDevelops and tests
complex software applications to meet design requirements.System
and Technology IntegrationDemonstrates knowledge of relevant
technology and understands relationships between applications,
databases, and platforms.Technology Advising/Consulting
- Communicates effectively with customers, understanding their
needs and expectations.
- Ensures operational teams understand customer requirements and
identifies technical issues for solutions.
- Explores new ways to utilize technology to meet customer

annual base pay ranges from $88,260 to $143,400, depending on
