ExemptDescriptionThe purpose of this position is to provide systems
administration for both servers and applications including
installing, configuring, optimizing, and supporting server
hardware, operating systems, and applications. These systems reside
both on premises and at cloud-based data centers. This position
also provides advance support for user needs, including researching
and evaluating new solutions for staff, better utilization of
current applications, and conducting necessary training.
-Responsibilities
- Manage server hardware, operating systems, and applications to
ensure high performance and availability for business
processes.
- Manage user identity and rights, file level permissions, and
storage allocation for both local and cloud-based systems.
- Provide second and third tier helpdesk support.
- Manage Enterprise-wide systems, including VoIP phone system,
backup, and anti-virus servers.
- Ensure all servers and desktops are kept current with
patches.
- Recommend ways to improve use of existing applications.
- Assist in implementing and maintaining a secure
environment.
- Manage all daily work and projects according to the standards
and policies of Information Systems.QualificationsKnowledge
Typically Acquired Through
- Obtaining a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information
Systems Management, Business Administration, or a minimum of three
years related experience.
- Earning certificates from certified technology learning
centersScope and Depth of Technical Skills/Knowledge
- Demonstrated skills in Windows Server and Active Directory
structure and services.
- Detailed knowledge of and experience supporting the Microsoft
Office Suite of applications.
- Demonstrated ability to write clear and accurate user and
technical documentation.
- General knowledge of SQL Server, IIS, and the concepts of
switched networking, network security, VoIP, virtualization, and
cloud-based computing.
- Experience with Microsoft Exchange, Office 365, VMware, and
Azure AD.Scope and Depth of Non-Technical Skills/Knowledge
- Demonstrated ability to quickly learn new software
applications.
- Demonstrated ability to translate user requirements into
program specifications.
- Strong teamwork skills.
