Job Description:
As a Senior Network Administrator, you should bring a high level
of networking infrastructure knowledge, blended with technical
expertise that aligns what we do as a business to our client's
mission. The Senior Network Administrator is expected to be well
organized, detail-oriented, understand and demonstrate Cloud and
On-Prem Technology and Infrastructure, have current and relevant IT
technology experience, ability to implement processes and change,
work comfortably under pressure and deliver on tight deadlines. You
would be responsible for managing the day-to-day networking
infrastructure support as well as architectural changes and
improvements. This position is responsible for establishing a
structured approach to aligning IT Management and Operations with
business objectives. This position requires an individual who can
liaise with key functional teams such as Executive Leadership,
end-users, and other stakeholders to discuss IT Infrastructure, and
plan for future initiatives and budgets. Responsibilities and
Duties:As a Senior Network Administrator, we are the face of R3 to
our clients and bring a level of customer service blended with
technical expertise that shows through the choice of our actions
and the forward-thinking of our plans. Your responsibilities will
be broad and will include, but are not limited to the following: -
Onsite presence required - Some traveling within the
Maryland/Virginia/D.C. area required - Mentor more junior staff
and/or peers - Be available to support as needed or as assigned
client site support. - Participate and be available for assigned
on-call, after-hours, and/or weekend support. - Must be able to
support escalated and/or emergency situations during normal
business times as well as off-hour/weekends as necessary. -
Incident and problem management (including root cause
analysis/corrective/preventive actions, driving and/or
participating in "tiger" teams during outages and/or degraded
services, report outcomes, etc.) - Provide and ensure that the
appropriate troubleshooting activities occur on and/or off-site -
Proper categorization, prioritization, and updates. - Metrics
reporting and analysis to facilitate decision making, resource
allocation, and adherence to SLAs. - Ensure timely escalation to
the appropriate team(s). - Timely resolution of tickets. - Timely
communication updates to the clients. - Knowledge base and run book
development. - Manage assigned project-based solutions -
Effectively plan, design, test, implement and manage technical
projects as assigned. - Perform due diligence and thoroughly
research to understand what needs to be implemented and how best to
carry out - Document using R3 templates, tools, and processes -
Communicate progress to internal management and external customers.
- Coordinate deployments with customers/end-users and notify help
desk prior to implementation. - Ensure appropriate resource
allocation and workload are maintained. - Maintain appropriate
records for various tools utilized to enable accurate information
is properly conveyed to interfacing teams. - Provide input and
support for the development, documentation, implementation,
training, maintenance, and improvement of service desk lifecycle
processes to include adherence to industry standards such as ITIL
best practices, ISO 20000-1:2018, and/or CMMI-SVCs - Interface with
other teams within R3 to ensure appropriate information is conveyed
in both directions based on the evolving needs of the organization
and our clients; coordinate and manage all relevant stakeholders
involved in tasks assigned. - Regularly enhance skills by attending
training, webinars, or participating in self-directed career-based
skill enhancements - Proactively review client network
infrastructure - Assist in the planning of large-scale systems
projects through vendor comparison and cost studies. - Assist in
the management of the purchase, installation, and support of client
network infrastructure - Conduct feasibility studies for large
projects, develop requests for proposal, evaluates vendor products,
and makes recommendations on selection. - Monitor and respond to
hardware, software, and network problems in relation to customer
LANs and WANs - Monitor and control the performance and status of
the network resources. - Support, install, maintain, and
troubleshoot all local area and wide area networking devices and
related software for client internal and external networks. -
Provide the routine testing and analysis of all elements of
clients' network facilities. - Perform reactive remediation action
to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to client infrastructure
- Utilize software and hardware tools and identify and diagnose
complex problems and factors affecting network performance. -
Provide assistance and technical support for network design
activities. - Assist in the review/assessment of user needs.
Perform feasibility studies for small projects. - Recommends and
schedules repairs. - Provides guidance and training to less
experienced analysts. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: - Expert
working knowledge of Cisco ISR and ASR routers, Cisco Catalyst
switches, Cisco ASA firewalls, and Meraki MX, MR, and MS devices. -
Exceptional documentation, communication, presentation, and
relationship management skills. - Highly organized, team player,
responsive, positive, excellent collaborator, and critical thinker.
- Troubleshooting skills in relation to routing, switching,
wireless, and other network-related issues. - Low to moderate
working knowledge of Microsoft tools and cloud-based services,
Azure, Office/Microsoft 365, Intune, Multi-Factor Authentication,
Defender ATP, Teams, Exchange Online, Sentinel, Microsoft Virtual
Desktop, Microsoft Power Platform (Power BI), etc. - Moderate to an
expert working knowledge of Networking: LANs, WANs, VPNs, Routers,
Firewalls, TCP/IP. Qualifications: - U.S. Citizen (Federal client
requirement) - Bachelor's degree in Information
Technology/Security, Computer (Information) Science, Management
Information Systems, or related discipline. - 10+ years experience
in a network administration and/or engineering role - Networking
certifications a plus: CMSS, CCNA, CCNP CWNA, etc.
