Job Description:

ESAC, Inc., a global provider of data management, informatics research, and Health Information Technology--(HIT) solutions to government, academic and, research institutions is looking for a Senior Software Engineer with experience in technical HIT leadership and HL7 HIT standards such as Quality Reporting Document Architecture (QRDA), Fast Healthcare Interoperable Resource (FHIR), and Clinical Quality Language (CQL). This position plays a critical role in supporting multiple ESAC clients in the federal government. The Senior Software Engineer will collaborate with multi-functional teams working on various projects. ESAC. Inc. is based in Rockville, MD. This position may--be filled from any US location.

• Serve as Senior Software Engineer for the Electronic Clinical Quality Measure (eCQM) Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR) project under the eCQM Standards and Harmonization project
• Establish collaborative relationships with clients, other collaborators, contractors, and other associated federal partners
• Working in small, agile teams, ensure schedules and performance requirements for projects are met
• May direct the technical project team through all phases and activities of the project life-cycle. Some hands-on development and testing on HIT projects is helpful but not mandatory Position Requirements Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field - Engineering, Math, Science. with at least 8-10 years of professional experience
  • At least 6-8 years of hands-on software development in Java, JavaScript, Python, or C++ required
  • Understanding of HIT technologies and challenges
  • Excellent analytical skills, highly detail-oriented with the ability to research and analyze various issues
  • Excellent communication skills - written and oral - across all levels including executive management
  • Ability to work on multiple assignments and balance priorities and schedules
  • Must have a collaborative attitude with the ability to develop excellent working relationships with all stakeholders
  • Working knowledge of international HIT standards such as HL7 FHIR; and experience with health-related standard vocabularies is highly desirable but not essential
  • Scrum Master certification helpful but not required but must be familiar with Agile Methodologies
  • Familiarity with quality processes such as CMMIDEV/3 and ISO:9001/2015, ITIL and Lean management is preferredTechnologies

    • Maven, Gradle, build technologies
    • Knowledge of Continuous Integration/Continuous Development (CI/CD) practices
    • Web Services, (REST, SOAP)
    • Relational databases and SQL, XML, JSON
