Job Description:
MedStar Health, a leading non-profit healthcare provider in the
D.C.-Maryland-Virginia region, is seeking a Clinical Pharmacist II
to join our dedicated team. This pivotal role ensures the safe and
effective use of medications by providing medication order
verification while advising and educating patients and healthcare
staff on the best use of medications. Join a patient-first team
committed to healthcare excellence and innovation. Review and
verify medication orders for accuracy and optimal drug regimens.
Provide drug therapy consultations as requested by healthcare
providers and patients. Supervise and train pharmacy technicians
and interns to ensure compliance with all regulatory, licensure,
and accreditation requirements. Participate in pharmacy-led
research and clinical trials. Develop and manage medication therapy
protocols within the healthcare team. Educate patients and
healthcare professionals on drug therapies and interactions. Deep
knowledge of pharmacological agents used in patient care. Ability
to manage complex medication regimens. Strong communication skills
for effective patient and peer interactions. Proficiency in
utilizing electronic medical record (EMR) systems. Aptitude for
supervising and teaching other pharmacy staff. Medical Insurance
Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Current
Pharmacist licensure in the state of practice. Board Certification
in Pharmacotherapy Specialists (BCPS) preferred. CPR or BLS
certification.
