TLC, the Treatment and Learning Centers in Rockville, MD has an opening for an On-Call Community Resource Advocate. We work to assist our clients to gain independence. This is an entry level position assisting adults with disabilities in the community. Examples include: Helping people to learn basic skills with cooking, budgeting, and household chores (cleaning charts, grocery shopping). Assisting people in accessing educational or recreational opportunities in the community (movies, museums, live shows, sporting events, karaoke, physical fitness). Connecting people to community resources such as medical, housing or transportation. EOE The hours vary. Core hours are 3pm - 8pm, 3 days per week. There may also be various hours on the weekends - no overnight hours. A company car will be provided to all staff when they are supporting individuals. Rate of pay is $18 - $19 per hour Required Experience for the Community Resource Advocate: Must have an Associate's degree in Vocational Rehabilitation, Psychology, Special Education, or closely related field - direct work experience may be substituted for educational requirements Experience working with individuals with neurological impairments and/or developmental disabilities Must have and maintain a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record Computer literacy is required Must have a car Must be highly organized and able to demonstrate effective time management skills Must be able to work with a team and support team members Benefits: Benefits for the Community Resource Advocate include: 403B Free parking Longevity Bonus
