Immediate Opportunity

The Katherine Thomas School in Rockville, MD has an opening for the 2024/2025 school year for a Full-Time, 10-month, Occupational Therapist. The Katherine Thomas School is a private special education school that services students with language, learning, sensory motor disabilities, and autism that serves students in grades K - 12. EOE

Responsibilities of the Occupational Therapist:

Evaluate and provide individual and group therapy as well as classroom integrative services
Work closely with the educational team to provide comprehensive services to students on their caseload
Prepare accurate and timely documentation and report progress of students
Participate in school and departmental staff meetings
Use a variety of virtual programs and platforms to support students' learning during virtual learning

Experience and Skills:

Requirements for the Occupational Therapist:

Masters from an accredited Occupational Therapy program
Certified by the American Occupational Therapy Association
Eligibility for Maryland licensure must be established prior to employment
Two to three years of pediatric and school experience is preferred
Assistive technology experience a plus
Ability to determine the need for an occupational therapy evaluation
Ability to develop occupationally based intervention plans
