Job Description:

A non-profit healthcare system is seeking a highly motivated Cardiac Rehab RN to join their team. The nurse will plan, implement, and evaluate patient education for cardiac inpatient populations for this hospital in Bonita Springs, FL. This includes post-operative CABG, pre & post-catheterization, and other cardiac-related conditions and procedures. They will also assume basic teaching and leadership responsibilities, with outstanding verbal and non-verbal communication skills. The ideal candidate will work well with patients, nursing staff, medical staff, patient families, and other Cardiac Rehab personnel. Key Responsibilities: -

• Provide education plans according to AACVPR guidelines -
• Identify risk factors associated with cardiac and pulmonary disease and assist with risk stratification -
• Develop a plan of care that includes activity and diet intervention for each patient and adjust/reevaluate goals as needed to meet their individual needs -
• Facilitate both CABG discharge class and phase I to phase II transition process -
• Participate in patient education and community-based programs, organizing classes, communicating with speakers and participants, and providing classroom instruction -
• Cross-train to outpatient cardiac rehab program and work a flexible schedule as needed Requirements:
  • Registered Nurse license in Florida -
  • 1 year of cardiology related patient care experience, with critical care experience preferred -
  • Extensive knowledge of cardiac disease, - risk stratification, exercise physiology, and diet and nutrition -
  • BLS certification from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association -
  • Intermediate computer knowledge: Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Windows
