Job Description
X-energy is looking for a Director of Documents and Records to lead the strategic development and execution of enterprise-wide document control and records management programs across the organization. This role is essential in ensuring regulatory compliance, operational efficiency, and the integrity of technical and project-related documentation throughout the lifecycle of our advanced nuclear technologies. This position will work closely with engineering, licensing, quality assurance, legal, IT, and project management teams to maintain a robust and compliant document management system in a fast-paced and highly regulated environment.

Job Profile Tasks/Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain enterprise-wide policies and procedures for document control and records retention, consistent with NRC, DOE, and other regulatory requirements.
• Oversee and continuously improve the use of document management platforms (e.g., Box.com, Siemens TeamCenter) to ensure secure, organized, and accessible information systems.
• Ensure proper classification, version control, access control, and retention of documents including engineering drawings, QA records, licensing applications, and project deliverables.
• Lead the implementation and integration of document workflows in coordination with cross-functional departments and project teams.
• Manage document handover and turnover processes between internal teams and external partners, contractors, and government agencies.
• Direct internal audits and readiness reviews for document and records management systems in preparation for regulatory inspections and quality assurance reviews.
• Supervise a team of document control specialists, including setting performance goals, training, and professional development.
• Provide executive-level reporting on document control KPIs, compliance status, and system utilization.
• Serve as the primary liaison for document management with external stakeholders including the NRC, DOE, and commercial partners.
• Maintain professional demeanor and behavior at all times in all forms of communication.
• Perform other duties as assigned by manager.
  
  Job Profile Minimum Qualifications:
  
  • Bachelor's degree in information management, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Experience with Box.com a plus.
  • Typically, fifteen years of general work experience with ten plus years of experience in document and records management.
  • Experience in developing and scaling enterprise document control systems in a project-driven, technical organization.
  • Deep understanding of NRC/DOE regulatory frameworks, NQA-1, ISO 9001, and electronic recordkeeping standards.
  • Strong working knowledge of document management lifecycle, from creation and collaboration to archival and destruction.
    
    Location: 530 Gaither Road, Rockville, MD
    Work Site Expectations: 5 days per week in office
    
    Travel Expectations: up to 10% if needed
    
    Hours: standard office schedule are 8:00am-5:00pm ET, Mon-Fri
    
    Compensation

    A reasonable estimate for this position at the level of experience required is:
    $183,060- $254,250
