Johns Hopkins University invites nominations and applications for
the Assistant/Associate Program Director position in the Advanced
Academic Programs' (AAP) Computational Biology of the Center for
Biotechnology Education (CBE), a division of the Krieger School of
Arts & Sciences. The Assistant/Associate Program Director will
report to the Program Director for Computational Biology. The Johns
Hopkins University is committed to hiring candidates who, through

entrepreneurial, innovative, and forward-thinking and assist in the
management of the computational biology graduate offerings. This
new faculty member will also work collaboratively with the other
full-time faculty to set the goals and direction of the Center in
its pursuit of teaching excellence. This is a full-time,
non-tenure-track, 12-month renewable faculty position with the
academic title of Lecturer or Senior Lecturer.Advanced Academic
ProgramsAAP offers rigorous and high-quality master's degrees and
certificates in three locations: the Washington, DC Center, the
Homewood campus in Baltimore, MD, and online. AAP enrolls almost
6,000 students each academic year in over 45 programs and
distinguishes itself through its intensive instructional
assistance, selective admissions, and 60 dedicated full-time
faculty. Tenured Krieger School faculty members serve as Program
Chairs to oversee the academic rigor of CBE graduate offerings.

information.Academic Responsibilities:Teaching five graduate
courses per year, including the preparation for and time spent in
the classroom (online or onsite)Advising students from diverse
backgroundsProviding innovative leadership for curriculum design
and new course development to ensure the growth and delivery of the
programsUniversity ServiceAdministrative Responsibilities:Assisting
the Program Director with mentoring and evaluating full-time,
part-time, and adjunct facultyCoordinating, as needed, with the AAP
Office of Enrollment Services and Student SuccessAssisting in the
admissions processesSupporting the Program Director in new
curricular initiativesMinimum Qualifications:Terminal degree in a
life or computer science fieldTwo years of higher education
teaching experience online and/or at the graduate levelSome
professional work experience outside of academics, including but
not limited to outside consulting or collaborative work within
biological fieldsThe ability to teach a wide variety of courses in
computational biologyDemonstrated track record of excellence in
teaching and innovation in curriculum designPreferred
Qualifications:Three or more years of higher education teaching
experience online and/or at the graduate levelOne or more years of
related professional work experience outside of academiaStrong
organizational skillsAbility to work independently in a fast-paced
environment with competing demands and multiple deadlinesExcellent
oral and written communication skillsExperience managing a degree
or certificate programThe position will remain open until it is
