POSITION INFORMATION
Overall Position Summary and Objectives We are seeking a highly
motivated and collaborative Scientific Manager to support the
overall objectives of two BRAIN Initiative programs. The first of
these programs is the sequencing component of the BRAIN Initiative
Cell Atlas Network. The candidate will manage the activities of a
network of government contractors comprising the BRAIN Initiative
Sequencing Core, and the BRAIN Initiative Cell Atlas Network
(BICAN) laboratories, and will coordinate submission of libraries,
sequencing operations, data submission, and activity reporting to
the data repository and the project coordinating center. The second
program is the BRAIN Initiative to approve and keep track of Data
Management and Sharing Plans for BRAIN Initiative awards.

Certifications & Licenses
- PhD in Life Sciences with a minimum of 2 years of industry
and/or academic hands-on lab experience

and working with contract research organizations.
- Detail oriented, ability to multitask and effectively manage
work processes in a team-based environment.

- Work products and documents related to working with the
assigned program officers for each award and with the Team Data
co-leads to evaluate whether the submitted plan is appropriate. -

the Data Archive -to transition the Data Sharing and Management
Plan tracking from the current spreadsheet based system to one that
uses the newly developed infrastructure -- Weekly

maintaining communications with BICAN sequencing core contractors,
BICAN laboratories, project coordinating center, the designated
data repository, and with internal staff (Contracting Officer's

- Work products and documents related to Planning, scheduling,
and tracking inventories of DNAs, RNAs, or tissue samples from
BICAN laboratories, track progress of research projects,
coordinate, direct and supervise contractors' efforts towards
timely completion of projects. Track data QC reports, data
submission, pilot studies completion. - Weekly
- Work products and documents related to tracking and monitoring
timelines, milestones, requirements, and deliverables for the BICAN
Sequencing program to ensure that objectives are met. Alert COR to

evaluating, and implementing new sequencing platforms and
methodologies, as suggested by sequencing core contractors, to
enable a highly robust and efficient sequencing operation in
support of large-scale, high-throughput single cell and bulk tissue

items for internal government meetings and network meetings with

STATEMENT OF WORK DETAILS
Develops and assists staff implement policies and procedures
related to the organization's scientific programs.
- Initiate and maintain communications with BICAN sequencing core
contractors, BICAN laboratories, project coordinating center, the
NIH-designated data repository, and with internal staff
(Contracting Officer's Representatives, COR and NIH project
SMEs).
- Track and monitor timelines, milestones, requirements, and
deliverables for the BICAN Sequencing program to ensure that
objectives are met. Alert COR to schedule deviations.
- Lead efforts in evaluating, and implementing new sequencing
platforms and methodologies, as suggested by sequencing core
contractors, to enable a highly robust and efficient sequencing
operation in support of large-scale, high-throughput single cell
and bulk tissue genomics.
- Develop agendas, coordinate meeting preparation, and capture
