Description Summary of the Position The Portfolio Governance Management and Evaluation (PGME) Program Impact Manager / Sr. Manager is a highly visible, individual contributor, role responsible for defining, focusing, monitoring and communicating USPs impact on the supply of quality medicines. The role will afford the individual to partner with ET members and their leadership teams, to gather, codify and amplify impact both internal and external to the organization. Roles and Responsibilities Define, Focus, Monitor and Communicate USPs Impact Create organization-wide mechanisms to support impact reporting. Build supporting processes to support regular communication to staff on what we are learning about USP impact; Define and determine appropriate deliverables; Partner with internal communications in GEA. Participate in the design of process and outcome evaluations and performance measures; create data management and collection systems; perform survey instrument design and testing, update databases, generate descriptive statistics, and test and validate findings. Participate in, and often lead, the creation of impact stories impact series, use cases, spotlights, etc., that can be used to communicate both internal and external to the organization Build and structure framework that supports a systematic approach to understanding where and how USP has impact. First priority is to understand how USP standards have impact. o Leverage the existing working group to collect, test and socialize hypothesis to evaluate potential impact o Build USPs evidence base for understanding where and how USP makes impact on the supply of quality medicines o Provide feedback to business units, as appropriate, on how they could consider adjusting strategy to maximize for impact (at the direction of the MPC) As needed, create scope of works for external vendors / academic partners to evaluate USP impact. Driving alignment with ET and GLT on the organizations impact priorities Work with the ET chair to manage the portfolio of impact programs Manage and monitor performance of portfolio (i.e., individual programs), ensuring accountability, tracking to plan, and providing transparency into how programs are tracking to plan Create necessary mechanisms, processes and tools to build pipeline of programs, and support accountability of individual program performance within portfolio (e.g., entrance and exit criteria, stage gate review, dashboards, scorecards, etc.) Work with program leads, as needed, to help them collect and articulate their impact Create and/or leverage existing committee templates to facilitate development of materials for presentation to ET committee; As needed, provide upfront feedback to help ensure effective dialogue Working with Partners Build and maintain high quality relationships with partners across the organization, and work with them to develop robust business cases for programs in the pipeline, as well as to surface USP areas of impact worth collecting and communicating Establish high quality relationships with ET and GLT members and other business leaders Ensure high quality engagement by other functions to lead to a quality and timely work product Seeking Feedback and Continuously Improving Drive and seek feedback (through both formal and informal mechanisms) to improve impact function and value Capture and share knowledge and lessons learned from projects and other initiatives with appropriate audience(s) Create documentation to preserve information, experiential data, and knowledge relevant to future projects. Basic Qualifications Manager o Bachelors degree in science required, other area of study may be acceptable with experience in scientific field o Minimum five (5) years of experience in regulated industry o Minimum five (5) years of hands-on experience leading and managing a variety of complex projects Sr. Manager o Bachelors degree in science required, other area of study may be acceptable with experience in scientific field o Minimum eight (8) years of experience in regulated industry o Minimum eight (8) years of hands-on experience leading and managing a variety of complex projects Demonstrated experience articulating issues, problem solving and presenting recommendations at the executive level Demonstrated ability to successfully manage multiple high profile concurrent assignments in a timely manner Ability to collect, analyze, maintain, and manage quantitative and qualitative data Ability to influence, motivate, and mobilize teams and business partners. Speak, listen and write in a clear, thorough manner and tailors use of appropriate communication tools and techniques to the situation. Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships to achieve the program goals. Strong time management, project management skills (i.e., proactive approach, deadline management, follow-up mechanisms, overview instruments), organizational skills and attention to detail Strong professionalism, accountability, and possesses a customer service mentality Ability and desire to work well with diverse employees in a cooperative and friendly manner Strong proficiency creating content, processes, etc. utilizing MS365 tools (e.g., word, excel, ppt, etc.) to drive decision making. Preferred Qualifications PMP certification or equivalent. Possess a high level of business acumen (i.e., understanding the business need for each project and the ability to drive decisions based on what is best for the organization). Demonstrated experience partnering with stakeholders to create buy in and frameworks that facilitate successful change management Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills. Demonstrated skills and experience in navigating ambiguity, complexity and a variety of dependencies. Ability to effectively lead and influence in a matrixed environment, and without formal authority. Ability to assess situations to determine the importance, urgency and risks, and make clear decisions which are timely and, in the organizations, best interests.
