Individuals with a disability or a religious reason preventing them from taking the vaccine may request an accommodation.Posting Date: 6/13/2022Coach: Senior Director, Practice PortalSalary Range (Non-Negotiable): $85,104 - $94,559FLSA Exemption Status: ExemptDescriptionThe purpose of this position is to assist in the development and maintenance of information for ASHA's Practice Portal and related resources, including ASHA's consumer pages, by facilitating and leading teams that include staff and volunteer members with content expertise through the content development process. This position may also directly contribute to content resources development related to specific areas of practice and/or disorder areas under the direction of the Practice Portal Director and ASHA's Triage Team.Responsibilities

  • Serve as a Practice Portal content-team coordinator to facilitate the work of ASHA staff on the Practice Portal and related resources, such as ASHA's consumer pages, in a consistent and manner. The content is developed to help practitioners, students, and relevant stakeholders access the information they need and facilitate clinical decision making across practice areas.
  • Contribute to and facilitate the process of developing, updating, and editing Practice Portal topics and resources. This includes reviewing research articles and writing content for the Practice Portal.
  • Identify, retrieve, appraise, and synthesize relevant research from scientific journals, ASHA's Evidence Maps, and from feedback provided by outside subject matter experts.
  • Effectively communicate with various stakeholders, including but not limited to outside subject matter experts, ASHA and NSSLHA members, and internal ASHA staff (e.g., the program director and various cluster and association leadership) to provide information about the objectives of the Practice Portal and consumer pages, give updates on the status of content development, and promote resources used by stakeholders.
  • Ensure ongoing and timely progress for content development, including identifying and rectifying breakdowns in the process and timeline and communicating these breakdowns to the Practice Portal Program Director and ASHA leadership as necessary.
  • Serve as a liaison to assigned Practice cluster to monitor for possible challenges that may impact content development (e.g., changes in practice patterns and availability of resources that can contribute to content development).
  • Effectively administer the Practice Portal SharePoint team sites to facilitate content development and correspondence.QualificationsKnowledge Typically Acquired Through
    • Master of Arts/science degree in communication sciences and disorders or a doctoral degree in audiology
    • Current Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC)
    • Practical experience in the profession
    • Experience with writing using plain language and web-based formats
    • Experience with health and/or education related information pertaining to the communication sciences and disorders disciplineScope and Depth of Technical Skills/Knowledge
      • Support multidisciplinary teamwork (e.g., scheduling conference calls and meetings).
      • Assist with dissemination of clinical resource products and services.
      • (e.g., presentations, e-mail blasts, group email campaigns)
      • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and SharePoint
      • Ability to use web-based tools to identify relevant scientific literatureScope and Depth of Non-Technical Skills/Knowledge
