Job Description SUMMARY: Established in 1985, The ALS
Association is the only national nonprofit organization fighting
ALS on every front. By leading the way in global research,
providing assistance for people with ALS through a nationwide
network of chapters, coordinating multidisciplinary care through
certified clinical care centers, and fostering government
partnerships, The Association builds hope and enhances quality of
life while aggressively searching for new treatments and a cure.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES . Core duties and
responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be
assigned. Manage new and existing annual Distinguished Events to
include Dine to Defeat ALS-- and CEO Soak. Work with development
team to achieve annual budget of $450,000. Build and execute
strategic fundraising and cultivation plans that engage and inspire
our volunteer and community prospects and partners. Build and
steward new relationships to create a foundation for new events.
Manage online fundraising programs. Work with Director,
Distinguished Events to develop committees and supports for
Distinguished Events. Including working auction committee. Recruit,
empower, and mobilize volunteers to join us in the fight. Work with
Managing Director, Development, Director, Distinguished Events and
development team to implement long range fundraising plan. Oversee
the donor management system(s) and work to ensure ongoing accuracy
within the system(s). Work closely with development staff at
National ALS Association to ensure coordination on fundraising
activities and compliance with all Chapter standards and
policies/guidelines. Execute face to face meetings, phone and email
contact with corporate partners, vendors, volunteer committees and
donors. Maintain involvement with external organizations and
professional groups that may provide continuing education or build
long-term relationships with donors/supporters. Support Managing
Director and Director, Distinguished Events with other Chapter
projects and events as requested. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position does not have direct supervision of employees.
QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor---s degree required. At least two years of
professional development experience to include peer to peer
fundraising, corporate sponsorship cultivation and volunteer
engagement. Ability to work cross functionally with Chapter staff,
volunteers and donors. Strong organizational skills to plan,
implement, and administer fundraising events and programs. Skilled
communicator with interpersonal, verbal, and written skills.
Ability to work under and comply with continuous and multiple
deadlines. Manage multiple projects simultaneously. Proficiency
with Microsoft Office products. Experience with Salesforce, Classy
and Greater Giving preferred. Must be available to work some
weekends and evenings to attend special events and support all
event staff. Qualified candidates must have the ability to
