Our professionals in this group apply extensive industry knowledge in their delivery of efficient and effective assurance and tax services to some of the largest and most dynamic organizations in the area. Position Summary: The focus of this job is to develop new relationships and nurture existing relationships with prospects, referral partners, key community/trade organizations, clients and in some cases venture capital and private equity groups. The work involves driving business results. The job requires strong initiative and self-direction. A sincere appreciation for people and how they are each uniquely motivated is the foundation for designing and implementing interactive communication. Knowledge of the Aronson brand and the services we offer is critical for goal attainment. The job requires a high degree of relationship building and sales skills. The job environment is fast paced and results oriented. While there is urgency to goal achievement, responsibility for the achievement of results needs to be shared and effectively delegated when necessary. Initiating projects and processes beyond established organization practices will often require training and developing others and enlisting their support. A self-confident, extroverted communication style that can enliven, engage and positively impact individuals and groups is essential. The job has a variety of tasks and is dynamic and changing. Because goals and desired results can quickly change, the job requires regularly meeting and pro-actively establishing relationships with new groups. The ability to understand, quickly react and motivate others to adapt to the changing organization environment is a critical key to success. In general, the core of this position requires a motivated and motivating team builder and organization developer. Client Service, Communication & Relationships:

  • Develop and manage business development strategy with internal marketing and business development stakeholders, and industry and service group leads to achieve group and firm growth goals
  • Develop business opportunities for Aronson through the strategic identification of and consistent outreach to key prospects
  • Build and maintain relationships with key referral partners with an emphasis on core markets and/or emerging growth markets that generate positive ROI
  • Attend key conferences and networking events as a representative of the Aronson brand
  • Demonstrate exceptional verbal & written communication skills when interacting with clients, prospects and business partners Engagement Economics, Time Management & Project Management:
    • Ability to plan and lead events
    • Self-starter with ability to work independently and juggle numerous projects in fast-paced environment
    • Assist strategically with Aronson sponsored industry focused conferences, networking events, and webinars
    • Manage business development team members
    • Proven track record in building pipeline for new and cross-sell service opportunities that support Aronson's growth goals with a priority focus on new business
    • Understanding and optimizing existing and creating new business development systems and processes in order to reach goals
    • Identify market trends and collaborate with marketing group to devise marketing and bd plans that support growth-focused activity
    • Develop and execute Key Account Management Strategy with firm stakeholders, and business development and marketing team Technical Skills:
      • Work with marketing and business development lead to establish and maintain benchmarking reports by leveraging Aronson's CRM or other business development tools.
      • Ensure business development activity is measurable through KPIs, like pipeline generated, referrals received and conversions to business
      • Understand Aronson's industry focuses and service offerings and how to convey in business development scenarios
      • Understand the stages of sales cycles to proactively engage, cultivate and manage relationships with prospects in conjunction with lead partners from lead identification to business conversion.
      • Provide market insights to industry groups and marketing team to assist in marketing and bd campaign execution
      • Understand the highly competitive accounting services landscape to differentiate and position appropriately for success
      • Identify and cultivate referral relationships meaningful to prospects, clients, industry-partners and Aronson Experience, Education/Certifications:
        • Bachelor's Degree Business, Communications or equivalent field Required
        • CPA Required
        • 5+ Years sales/business development or related experience
        • 2+ Years experience interfacing with and successfully selling to C-suite executives
        • 1+ Years Accounting or professional services industry experience
        • 1+ Knowledge of and contacts within the Mid-Atlantic and industry focuses Evaluation Expectations: Team member evaluations will be conducted routinely and as deemed appropriate by the team member's evaluator. The team member is evaluated on the competencies required to accomplish assigned work duties (see Core Competencies section of your job description). The standard annual budget for hours is 2,080. These hours are based on working full-time minimum of 40 hours per week. Individuals on an approved reduced workweek (less than 40 hours) will have these hours adjusted accordingly by the People Team. Evaluator Responsibilities: Supervising team members in the roles outlined below is required to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. The team member is expected to supervise Senior Associates, Associates, Coordinators and Interns. Acting as a new hire buddy is possible.
