Westat's research, technical, and administrative staff of more than 2,000 is located at our headquarters in Rockville, Maryland, near Washington, DC.Westat is seeking a Project Manager, Strategy Development and Implementation to play a pivotal role in driving growth at both the corporate- and practice-levels through the performance of an array of project management, business development, and market research responsibilities. Job ResponsibilitiesWorking within the Business Development & Marketing team, the successful candidate will work closely with leadership and team members in performing the following key areas of responsibility:* Project management* Develop standardized processes for implementing, reporting, and monitoring on progress toward achieving established strategic goals* Participate in corporate and practice level strategy meetings, including organizing and facilitating meetings, preparing materials to support these meetings, and documenting follow up actions* Work collaboratively to monitor and communicate progress on strategy development, including schedule and deliverables* Manage the archive of strategy documents * Business development * Assist in identifying and launching new cross-company initiatives that leverage diverse capabilities and expertise * Monitor the development and updating of business development tools (e.g., pipeline of opportunities) and provide inputs in their execution * Support marketing materials development, ensuring that messaging conveys strategic goals and directions * Market research* Conduct analyses of the policy environment and landscape to inform strategic planning initiatives* Contribute to the development of client and competitor analyses* Synthesize substantial amounts of information and identify trends and issues* Based on research and analysis, proactively make recommendations for senior leaders' consideration In this role you must have a proven ability to:* Clearly translate findings into brief and easily digested formats and narratives* Prepare and present persuade recommendations to senior audiences * Work collaboratively across a range of stakeholders * Apply problem-solving and analytical expertise* Facilitate in person and virtual brainstorming sessions and other discussions* Project manage multiple priorities and remain adaptable to changeBasic Qualifications:* Bachelor's degree in business or a subject area aligned with Westat's markets or capabilities (e.g., health, education, and statistics)* 10 years of experience, including 8+ years of experience with a professional services or research firm that manages federal contracts and grants* Facile in using MS Office, with an emphasis on Excel and PowerPoint--Preferred Qualifications:* MBA or other advanced degree* PMP certification* Experience with industry research tools, such as GovWin, Federal Procurement Data System (FPDS), and Bloomberg Government (Bgov)Westat offers a well-rounded and comprehensive benefits program focused on wellness and work/life balance.
