Maintenance technician must be able to work independently, take pride in his work, and have the drive to serve his customers well. 2. Should have the ability to climb ladders, crawl into tight spaces (such as under a desk or cabinetry for plumbing maintenance), bend down, kneel for extended periods, and lift heavy objects. 3 . Valid Virginia Driver's License and a clean driving record. Position Description The Maintenance Technician performs a wide range of simple to complex odd jobs for individuals or groups at our three locations (Woodbridge, Manassas and Dumfries). The candidate must prioritize jobs according to urgency and allow time to view the work to be done, purchase parts and supplies, and reschedule a time to return to finish work projects. The candidate is knowledgeable in a variety of techniques for repairing, installing, and building. The candidate is also willing to keep the exterior of the building clean and safe, e.g., snow removal. Essential Functions The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the following essential functions: 1. Provides upkeep and maintenance to exterior areas of the buildings to include removing trash/debris, leaves, snow and fallen branches from walkways and parking lots. 2. Paint office spaces (administrative offices, exam rooms, hallways, lobby, etc.) as directed 3. Clean drains, test wiring, and scrub, wax, and polish VCT floors. 4. General plumbing, electrical and carpentry such as replace light bulbs, tighten cabinetry or appliance hardware, fix leaky pipes. HVAC experience is a plus. 5. Assemble prefabricated furniture such as desks, chairs, bookcases, etc. 6. Assist on a yearly basis with Center events including tent set-up, providing exterior power sources, fans, and food pick-up, and preparation. 7. Assist with routine custodial duties to include, but not limited to, dusting, mopping, vacuuming, cleaning restrooms, and restocking paper and soap supplies. 7. Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
