Abt plays a central role in research, evaluation and technical assistance for HUD and other federal agencies, states, communities and the philanthropic community in areas relating to housing, homelessness, asset building and community development. We help policy makers identify what works and provide technical assistance and guidance on the design and implementation of complex initiatives and systems.Key Roles and Responsibilities
    • Lead project teams in roles such as project director, principal investigator, and task leader. Projects activities may include technical assistance, research, or strategic advising.
    • Participate in business development activities by engaging with clients and contributing to proposals for federal, state, local, and philanthropic funders as a technical lead, technical writer, or reviewer.
    • Manage project implementation including budgets, schedules, project deliverables, client relationships, and staff supervision.
    • Engage in thought leadership activities such as by presenting at conferences and meetings, publishing in peer reviewed journals, developing blog posts, participating in podcasts, or other related activities.
    • Serve as a Project Quality Reviewer for housing and community development projects.Preferred Qualifications
      • Deep knowledge of federal and/or state policies, regulations, and funding pertaining to housing and community development
      • Technical expertise in quantitative and/or qualitative research and evaluation methods and/or delivering high-quality technical assistance to policy makers and/or practitioners
      • Experience with business development such as developing strong client relationships, developing proposals, identifying opportunities, and forming strategic partnerships
      • Knowledge of equity frameworks and their application to research, evaluation, and technical assistance.

      • Strong commitment and aptitude in working collaboratively in teams and mentoring peerMinimum Qualifications -Master's Degree + Thirteen years of relevant experience, or PhD + Eight years of relevant experienceThis position offers an anticipated annual base salary range of approximately $105,120.07 -to $168,192.11 -and may vary by ten percent depending on candidate geographic location.
